Green tourmaline, also known as verdelite, is a crystalline borosilicate mineral rich in lithium and a member of the tourmaline family. It crystallizes as elongated rods or triangular and pyramidal crystals; almost always with quartz. This variety of tourmaline was discovered in Uno, Sweden, in 1818. This mineral is one of the most common colors of tourmaline you will find, with significant deposits in Brazil, Pakistan, Namibia, Afghanistan and the United States.
