Its color comes from the natural crocodolite fibers in the stone, which have yet to be fully crystallized into limonite. The colour is usually dark blue. Interestingly, the appearance of the stone is completely natural. The beautiful silky sheen is the result of the tiny asbestos fibres. The fibers are encased in quartz, so handling it is completely safe. Most specimens have other colors of tiger's eye in them such as gold, red and brown. It is commonly found in South Africa, Namibia, India, Brazil and Canada.
