Rare purple rose quartz, also known as lavender rose quartz, is not pink amethyst, although it is sometimes sold as such. It is a rose quartz from Madagascar with mineral inclusions that give it its unique, deep pink/purple color.
Rose quartz is a variety of quartz that gets its hazy pink colour from the microscopic fibres of a mineral related to dumortierite. These fibres always make true rose quartz a little opaque and do not occur in well-shaped crystals. Purple rose quartz has additional mineral inclusions that cause deepening and discoloration.
Purple Rose Quartz supports the heart chakra. Attributed qualities include kindness, gentleness, compassion and love. In addition to having a deeper color, purple rose quartz also has an intense, grounded energy that is ideal for meditation and focused heart chakra work.
