Orca agate is a variety of Chalcedony that occurs in Madagascar and crystallizes in a mass formation. This stone has unique colours of grey and blue with white flecks, mimicking the patterns and colours of the killer whale (hence its name).

In the later part of 2010, Orca Agate began appearing at international gem shows around the world. It was fascinating to customers and the crystal community because of its unique look and interesting pattern. This popularity was partly due to the wide range of shapes and sizes available for this newly discovered crystal. Madagascar artisans create unique shapes such as flames and freeforms that are not commonly available on the market.
