Product detailed description
Peridot, a silicate rich in iron and magnesium, is the gem variety of Olivine. It is found on basalt (bedrock), crystallized as tiny grains or small prismatic crystals. It also occasionally forms in large mass structures. Peridot can be almost any shade of green because of the amount of iron inside. One of the earliest mentions was around 300 BC as the first connection between humans and Peridot. This unique mineral can be found all over the world, with significant deposits in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the United States (Arizona). This mineral has also been reported in several different meteorites that have landed here on Earth (making this crystal interstellar).
