Leopard skin jasper is a type of rhyolite with rounded inclusions. It crystallizes in masses with lines and spheres and is found in various earthen shades such as beige, red and brown. It was named for its mottled appearance, and although some varieties have Jaspis in the name, it is a true rhyolite formed from violent volcanic eruptions. It can be found in several countries including Peru, Mexico, Brazil and Africa.
