One of the rarest minerals ever. There is only one location of occurrence in the whole world. Charoit comes from the Murun massif near the Chara River in Yakutia, hence its name.
Charoite impresses with its rich purple colour with white, black and brown veining. Recently, however, it has been very difficult to obtain both the raw material and the tumbled stones themselves. Moreover, most of them are sold immediately after processing. Its colour ranges from deep purple to lilac-pink and is commonly found with inclusions of quartz (white) and manganese (black). This is one of the few stones that at first glance may appear heat treated or dyed, but in reality it is almost impossible to mimic the natural purple waves of Charoite.
It is not recommended to clean in salt solutions, there is a risk of some parts of the stones sticking.
